Patisserie Descours' obscure location entails traveling north on Wirt from I-l0, past a comfortable old Spring Branchy neighborhood now being transformed by that virulent Houston phenom, the Brick Mini-Mansion Virus. Potential bakery customers with the requisite disposable income are busily colonizing brick-walled, preppily named developments in which the houses have expanded to fill every square inch of their lots.
Just north of the bakery's upscale brick shopping center, though, another demographic world unfolds, bustling with Hispanic and Asian businesses. As long as you're out here anyway, pack along some Descours cookies and take a tour.
