The Fabulous Satellite Lounge loses both an adept club manager and a colorful figurehead when David Beebe tenders his resignation next month to pursue music full time. Currently, Beebe skippers the Hat Heads and the El Orbits, and continues to be a key member of both the Allen Oldies Band and Banana Blender Surprise. Off-stage, his Mag Light-waving antics, behind-the-bar dance moves and passion for Pearl Light have become the stuff of Washington Avenue legend during his highly visible two-year stint at the club.

So it's no wonder the Satellite is sweating his departure. Not surprisingly, owner Susan Criner is looking for someone who can not only handle the responsibilities of the job -- which are pressing and many -- but can do it with personality. And no, Buddy Holly shades are not a prerequisite.
