The Food Bank may, as a result of the magical inflatable molehill, get more help from the community than it ever expected. While the absence of Planet Karmann won't likely put a dent in Thursday's food drive, Bryan Taylor is trying to make sure his minions protest "censorship" (there'll be no art cars at Webber Plaza this year) while still doing good works for the Food Bank.
After sending out 70-odd e-mails explaining the situation over the postscript "All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing," Taylor started organizing the "Ban Hunger Not Art Caravan." It will depart from the Art Car Museum on Friday, July 16, for the KHOU-Channel 11 Spirit of Texas Food Drive, the big-event follow-up to Thursday's function at Webber Plaza.
Drop boxes for donations are located at the Art Car Museum (140 Heights Boulevard), Montrose Skate Shop (1406 Stanford), Montrose Veterinary Clinic (1701 Montrose Boulevard), Last Concert Café (1402 Nance) and Art á La Carte (3637 W. Alabama).
Potential donors are advised that breast milk will not be accepted.
