"Burger and fries" and "healthy" don't usually go together -- unless, of course, you're talking about the burgers and fries ($5.50 to $6.50) at Ziggy's Healthy Grill (2320 West Alabama, 713-527-8588). Ziggy's burgers are made with lean, high-protein, low-calorie, 94 percent fat-free exotic meats. The big "M" can reduce all of the trans fatty acids it wants, it'll still never come close to matching the minimal amount of fat in Ziggy's hamburgers. The only question is, how much exoticism can your stomach handle? Sure, a venison or buffalo burger is pretty familiar. But then there are the ostrich, caribou, antelope and even kangaroo versions. All are served with an interesting "trio of fries" -- skin-on regular spuds, sweet potatoes and wafer-thin onion fries -- as well as the normal burger accoutrements plus fat-free mayo. Can't say I felt any healthier after eating my buffalo burger, but it can't hurt.
