Get a Swag VIP Table at Menu of Menus and Ball Hard with Your Friends...for Half the Cash
By Katharine Shilcutt
It was a quiet Friday night on FM 1960. Perhaps everyone was still hungover from New Year's Eve, or perhaps the stars -- which you can see out here -- weren't lining up right. In any case, The Boat at 3 Cheers (2462 FM 1960 West, 281-583-0990) was empty. The builders of this joint couldn't have tried any harder to make it look and feel like a boat -- even the bloody floor seems slanted. Upstairs at the oyster bar I encountered a hospitality-industry lifer who was so nice it was almost, but not quite, annoying. He suggested a Water Moccasin (along with popcorn shrimp, oysters or catfish baskets) to start things off, but a drink menu encouraged me to try a Slow Comfortable Screw Against the Wall. I opted for the latter. The bartender thought it tasted like cough syrup, but I thought it was so good I ordered a second. Then my sea legs got a little uneasy, so I paid my tab and headed for the door.
