Combining images and music isn't just for MTV anymore. Inspired by the paintings and writings of Postimpressionist Paul Gauguin, the multimedia presentation "Red Dogs and Pink Skies" is the brainchild of New York composer Bruce Adolphe and avant-garde artist Evan Polenghi. Adolphe says the idea is based on Gauguin's often misunderstood notion that "color is the language of the listening eye." Red Dogs places events in Gauguin's life and art within the context of late-19th-century music, science and literature. At the event, live music will be blended with a slide show and narration by Adolphe. According to him, this introduction to the concepts of color, rhythm and harmony best appeals to kids ages six to 14. Adolphe will answer questions after the concert, and then participants can head through the tunnel to the Southwestern Bell Education Studio for a workshop from noon to 3 p.m., where kids can create paintings based on their Red Dogs experiences. 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15. Nun Sense

Why should you take your kids to see Nuncrackers, the madcap musical revue featuring singing nuns and groaner puns?
