Shrimp and Sunset

Sundance Grill

Most Houstonians looking for a little scenery and some fresh seafood make a run for Galveston or Kemah. For a change of pace, head to the Seabrook Shipyard, home of the Sundance Grill(222 Jennings Island in Seabrook, 281-474-2248). The shipyard, family-owned since 1939, may seem an unlikely setting for a dining establishment, but it works. Tourists steadily trickle in there from State Highway 146, and locals dock their boats on the marina side. Sundance Grill is known for two things: great sunsets and slow service. So sit outside by the water and relax with a glass of wine. Among the simple and wonderfully fresh dishes are seafood tacos ($8.95) -- two soft flour tortillas filled with crisp, lightly grilled shrimp. They come with just-chopped pico de gallo and a big dollop of sour cream. Easy eating, beautiful view.
