A Clumsy Lovers show can be likened to the Pogues mating with those sweating Riverdance people. It seems fiddle dervish Andrea Lewis can't play if she's not dancing, so no matter who's singing or picking, the spotlight of the mind tends to stay firmly fixed on the dramatic Lewis. Her scruffy mates may not have Lewis's visual effect, but after seven albums and a jillion festival gigs, the Lovers are an amazingly tight ensemble for what is nominally a structured jam band. Their gig last year opening for Jesse Dayton at the Continental Club connected them to a sizable Houston crowd, and they've developed enough of a following here to make the long trip from the Frozen North a regular necessity. This will be their first showcase at the Mucky Duck.
