He's Bill, Beeyotch!

Though the future of Comedy Central's Chappelle's Show may be as bleak as the leadership tenure of black KKK member Clayton Bigsby, token white cast-dude Bill Burr is doing just fine on his own, thanks. For starters, the Boston native and 13-year stand-up vet has checked Stern, Letterman and Conan off his TV appearance to-do list. He also recently taped an HBO One Night Stand special, scheduled to air in August, and is pushing a comedy CD called Emotionally Unavailable. Oh, and he's one of the gosh-durn funniest near-albinos you'll ever witness slowly barbecuing under a comedy-club spotlight. The redheaded stepchild is stopping by the Improv this week with the pruriently monikered comedic duo Hard 'n Phirm. Burr won't be shooting any golden retrievers, ordering Samuel Jackson beers or hiding car keys up his bum, à la Chappelle. But you can expect plenty of intellectually ribald material on such topics as Dubya, medicinal side effects and George Foreman grills. The Gay Men's Chorus gives its regards to Broadway

The Gay Men's Chorus of Houston knows there's no business like show business, so as part of their 25th anniversary celebration, the fellas are presenting Broadway Legends, songs selected from the Rodgers and Hammerstein catalog, at the Wortham Center this weekend. More than 100 singers will belt out tunes from the famous musicals you've come to know and love. Highlights from The Sound of Music, The King and I, Cinderella, South Pacificand more will be showcased in a pitch-perfect, harmonious timbre. Of course, this is an all-male chorus, so expect a few female-sung numbers like "I'm Gonna Wash that Man Right Outta My Hair" and "You're a Queer One, Julie Jordan" to be spun in a whole new light. 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19. 501 Texas. Tango Tangle

Besides the lambada (the dance most likely to appear on VH1's Where Are They Now?), the sultriest and steamiest of choreographed body movements is, of course, the tango. The Michele Brangwen Dance Company will celebrate the mystique of the dance in the new work Desesperados. The show will feature four musicians and three dancers in a tangle of glistening limbs and leotards, performing a mixture of contemporary dance and avant-garde music. They've Got Spirit

Several dance companies, including Dallas Black Dance Theater, Second Generation Dance and Kuumba House Dance Theatre, are coming together for the Juneteenth dance concert "The Power of Spirit" at the Jewish Community Center. Kuumba House's Turn of the Tide tells the tale of Indonesia's tsunami victims.
