If you've ever traipsed through James Turrell's trippy light tunnel called The Light Inside at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, you've probably marveled at his use of manmade light fixtures. But did you know that he also designed the Live Oak Friends Meeting House? For years, people have been gathering there weekly to sit under his Skyspace installation as the sun sets, watching the sky's changing hues through a rectangular hole in the domed ceiling. As they can attest, the man also has a way with natural light. And today at "Live Oak Baroque," you can take it in along with a classical music performance of works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach as part of AIDS Foundation Houston's Mukuru Arts for AIDS series. At 6 p.m., audience members are invited to watch the sunset. Then, as a wash of blues and pinks fill the room, the concert will begin (around 7 p.m.). It promises to be a meditative — and colorful — show.
