Cat in Da House

It's been two years since Chicago-born DJ and producer Felix Stallings Jr. — a.k.a. Felix Da Housecat — released his last album, the somewhat clichéd and overtly retro throwback new-wave album Devin Dazzle & The Neon Fever. But the big grinning fellow is a legend on the house and electro scenes, and he has major name recognition. Expect oodles of fans of the man's mad mixing skills to flock to his show at the Meridian today.

Felix's 20-year influence can be heard in some of today's hottest electro beatmakers and DJs, such as Miss Kittin and Tommie Sunshine, both of whom he's collaborated with in the past. And though Da Cat hasn't put out a full-length album in a while, we love his remix work on Playboy: The Mansion Soundtrack. We're sure the tracks he'll lay down at today's show will have folks shaking it like cranked-up cats on catnip. Sean Carnahan opens.
