Schoolin' You

Young dancers from as far away as Canada, Japan and Australia attend Houston Ballet's Ben Stevenson School. So you'll want to check out these hotshots at their spring performance, which will feature artistic director Stanton Welch's contemporary piece Fingerprints, as well as more classical selections from Les Sylphidesand The Nutcracker. Fingerprints, infused with tribal dance, will feature Houston Ballet II, the students in the preprofessional training program. And all 197 dancers in the main school will storm the stage for Welch's Studies — including a few young'uns making their debuts. Recent alum and current Houston Ballet soloist Connor Walsh will also dance, representing one route future grads could take, but the students are the stars.
Fri., April 21, 7 p.m.; Sat., April 22, 2:30 p.m.
