He's Ours, Dammit!

There's a temptation to call this matchup "The Battle of 45," or the "I-45 Shootout," or something. But let's call today's game between our Houston Astrosand the Texas Rangers what it really is: the $20 Million Showdown. Twenty million bucks is what it will take to get hometown ace Roger Clemens — who's still weighing his options — back to the team for one final go. So far, the Astros and those punk Rangers are the most viable options for the Hall of Famer. (Rangers owner Tom Hicks has even promised the Rocket use of a personal jet to rocket home.) Odds are Clemens will return to the 'Stros, but with the way things have gone lately with incredible sports talent going elsewhere (Reggie Bush to New Orleans, anyone?), ya never know. Cheer on the team, and the eventual return of our favorite homer, at 7:05 p.m.
