Vaughan's On

Though he doesn't possess the fiery showmanship of his late brother Stevie Ray, Austin legend Jimmie Vaughanhas forged his own amazing path in traditional electric guitar blues, with a little influence from the Three Kings (B.B., Freddie and Albert). He developed his tough, lean sound as both a founding member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds and a solo artist. His records are sporadic (his last, Out There, appeared in 1998) and they rarely do his live show justice, so get out there and see him today. Opening for Vaughan is Lou Ann Barton, the smoky Austin blues seductress and a friend of Vaughan's.
Fri., May 19, 9 p.m.
