Sandwiched between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, screening tonight at River Oaks Theatre, has one thing that neither of those admittedly better movies has: Jonathan Ke Quan. Playing Short Round, Ke Quan stole the show with his endless stream of "Dr. Jones! Dr. Jones!" and lines such as "Okey dokey, Dr. Jones, hold on to your potatoes!" The chemistry between the tiny tour guide and the grumpy Indiana makes the rest of the movie, including the epic but overlong runaway mine-cart chase, that much more watchable. With the fourth Indiana Jones movie in production, tonight is the perfect opportunity to catch up with this celebrated franchise. Just don't forget to grab your hat.
