Ripe for Eatin' or Throwin'

"There's only two things that money can't buy," Guy Clark has sung. "That's true love and homegrown tomatoes." But with respect to the Texas legend, money can buy homegrown tomatoes at Urban Harvest's second annual Tomato Fest. The two-weekend event features every variety, from heirlooms to grape and cherry, for sale and, better still, for tasting. But even if tomatoes aren't your cup of V8, local farmers will be bringing in all your summer favorites from blueberries and peaches to green beans and sweet corn, because, as Clark put it: "All winter without 'em's a culinary bummer."
Saturdays, 8 a.m.-noon. Starts: June 3. Continues through June 10
