We've Got a Floater

John Robert Benjamin is a talented teen who attends Second Baptist High School. He won first place in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's Young Moviemakers Film Festival in 2004 and this year. So when the Houston Center for Photography solicited entries for the 24th annual Juried Membership Exhibition, what did this young filmmaker-shutterbug decide to shoot? A dead guy floating in water. Pretty macabre for a student at Ed Young's school, huh? Just who is the subject in Benjamin's Floating Father, Dead? Whose dad is it? Hard to say, but one thing's sure, this kid is talented. You can catch Benjamin's work along with pieces by 30 other local, national and international artists. Oh, and dead dads, too.
