G-town Jams

There are few venues in Texas as storied as the Balinese Room on Galveston Island, which makes it the perfect place for the Gulf Coast Music Festival. Getting the party started will be Sky Blue 72, a straight-ahead rock trio fronted by Jessica Zweback (named Houston Press best female vocalist in 2003). Also on today's bill is Slappy's Groove Shack, a band that plays funky, groovy and slappy jam rock. The festival continues with The Six Gun Republic, Hellfire Revival and The Mighty Orq, plus many more. Catch this musical beach party from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. today and Saturday, June 24.
