Molding a pile of dirt and water into something more than a chipped ashtray/candy dish is harder than it looks. You can do it, though — and the exhibitors at ClayHouston can show you how. At the weekend-long event at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, 18 area artists will showcase their pottery and sculptures, demonstrate techniques and give tips to would-be potters. Hand-building, wheel-throwing, decoration and firing methods are all on the agenda to help you realize your crafty potential.
