Pretty in Pink
Suzanne Westenhoefer may be a lesbian and a comedian, but she prefers not to have the two intertwined. "People don't call Chris Rock a black comedian, so I would like the same respect," Westenhoefer says. It's hard to separate one from the other, however, when Westenhoefer releases albums with brazen titles such as Nothing in My Closet but My Clothes. She's got three comedy albums under her belt, not to mention a number of talk show appearances and her own special on HBO. Today, as part of the Pink Bracelet Fundraiser, Westenhoefer will prove that breast cancer can be a laughing matter, as long as the proceeds go to a good cause.
