It's rare for a performer to be booked two consecutive weekends at a comedy club; most comedians simply cannot put that many asses in that many seats. But comedic hypnotist Ken Whitener typically does two weekends in a row at the Laff Spot. He sells so well, the Spot's Web site has specified "No passes or discounts," the mark of a bona fide seat-filler. Under Whitener's trance, sheepish men get on all fours and bark to the accompaniment of "Who Let the Dogs Out" and shy women transform into deviants saucier than the brothel bunnies in HBO's Deadwood. And we thought hypnotists only performed at airport Hiltons.
