Clean Linen

We're skeptical of white linen. It wrinkles easily and stains even more easily. But the Heights' White Linen Nightmakes us want to reconsider. Tonight, Heights art galleries, shops and eateries are encouraging patrons to don their crispest and coolest whites to return Houston's art 'hood to a more genteel time. Participating establishments such as Inner Art Corridor, Buchanan's Native Plants and Spanish Flowers Mexican Restaurant will be adorned with white banners and will feature live entertainment. Free trolleys and pedicabs will make it easier to flit from gallery to gallery, some of which will host Q&A sessions with artists on display. Grey Goose and Bacardi booths will offer complimentary "festive beverages." A luxury art festival seems a little odd, but it makes sense considering art may be more easily enjoyed - and purchased - after a couple of those festive beverages. Add this to the spirit of reclaiming the street art festival and, we do declare, we're feeling a little faint.
