In an amazingly prolific and eclectic career, Terry Allen has written music for the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company in San Francisco (he won Isadora Duncan Dance Awards for sound design and production design for the program); written plays like the visceral Juarez for New American Radio; sculpted pieces for everything from the Houston Intercontinental Airport to the student bookstore at Texas Tech; and exhibited a plethora of art ranging from paintings to complex multi-media installations like Dugout in major galleries across the country. Somehow, he also finds time to write songs with Guy Clark and David Byrne, record with Lloyd Maines and occasionally sally forth with his keyboard to perform his often hilariously sarcastic, completely bent Texas country music. If you're looking for the man who put the alternative in alternative country, look no further.
