More About
The Southern Foodways Alliance spreads stories about Southern food nationwide via the Potlikker Film Festival. A newly born tradition that will enjoy its second run today at the St. Arnolds Brewery, the event features screenings from SFAs vault, including Marsaw, which tells the story of Martin Sawyer, a bartender who has worked in New Orleans for 50 years; Hot Chicken, a film exploring the latest food craze in Nashville; and excerpts from Houstonian Maureen McNamaras documentary Hot Town, Cool City. Attendees can view the films as well as taste offerings from local restaurateurs including Monica Pope of tafia, Claire Smith and Jeb Stuart of Shade, and Memo and Claudia Piñedo of Jarro Café, while rocking out to local musician Toby Champagne. Of course, you can wash it all down with beverages provided by St. Arnolds Brewery. Enjoy life on the south side.
