Singer Sabra Laval echoes the eerie entrancement of Chan Marshall and Fiona Apple, her sweet vocals pouring over repetitive, heavy guitar strumming for lullabies that put listeners under her siren’s spell. In “Until It’s Gone,” Laval repeats an emotion-packed one-line chorus — “I won’t stop until it’s gone” — between verses that reveal the story of a lover who can’t let go. We don’t know about Laval’s love life, but she did have to let go of a lot this May. According to her MySpace page, a fire claimed her guitar, car and shoes. Luckily Laval made it out just fine, so you can enjoy her swooning today when she takes the stage along with Des Ark, The New Trust, Listen Listen and Fire Team Charlie.
