Tuna Does Vegas

Place your bets, everybody

The homespun characters of Tuna, Texas are back and ready to roll the dice for a whole lot of fun. They’re heading off to Sin City in the world premiere of Tuna Does Vegas. The fourth installment in the Greater Tuna series stars the original dynamic duo -- Jaston Williams and Tony-nominated Joe Sears -- who play multiple characters from Tuna, Texas, “the third smallest town” in the Lone Star State. Showgirls, male dancers and the new Rush Limbaugh diet all wiggle into the high jinks comedy. There's also a security guard whose one claim to fame is that he was shot in the butt by Sinatra, and a Humane Society rep who's on the trail of those amazing white tigers (are they really albinos or is it a dye job?). And then there's the white sequins-era Elvis impersonator who gets double-booked with a Blue Hawaii-era Elvis impersonator -- it ain't pretty. The show runs August 4 (the world premiere) to August 19. 8 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays, 7 p.m. Sundays, additional 2 p.m. show on Saturdays and Sundays. The Grand 1894 Opera House, 2020 Post Office Street in Galveston. For tickets and information, call 800-821-1894 or visit www.thegrand.com. $28 to $48.
Saturdays, 2 & 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 & 7 p.m.; Tuesdays-Fridays, 8 p.m. Starts: Aug. 4. Continues through Aug. 19
