The Riff Tiffs

Local rockers leaving Houston behind for college

By Dusti Rhodes

Published on August 09, 2007

If you have put off seeing The Riff Tiffs, don’t miss today’s show. It’s going to be the high school band’s last performance before heading off to college. Who knows what will happen to the ambient rockers who aim to capture the softer sides of Don Caballero and Sonic Youth? We’re guessing they’ll play during winter and summer vacations, but things could change. This could be Houston’s last chance to hear selections from the band’s recently released debut full-length Afflictinnitus. The Riff Tiffs close out the night after Mantis, I Miss Being a Kid and Ernie Banks.
