Jimmy Raycraft Benefit
concert preview
Published on August 09, 2007
Jimmy Raycraft has been on the Houston music scene almost as long as there's been one, lending his vocal and guitar talents to a slew of edgy bands: heavy rockers Spatz in the early '70s, hard-partying '80s faves the Dishes, Herschel Berry and the Natives, as well as numerous incarnations of his current employer, art-rocker collective Beans Barton and the Bipeds. Raycraft's feet went out from under him on a wet driveway about a month ago, landing him flat on his back with a burst disc to boot. Rockin' Robin Guitars, where Raycraft has been a longtime fixture, sponsors this rockin' benefit to help defray his medical expenses. Snit's Dog and Pony Show, Adam Burchfield of the Octanes, the Brad Absher Band, Prodigal Son, the Bowen Brothers and more all donate their time and talents to aid Raycraft, a Houston rock and roll institution and all-around good guy.
