“Lucy’s Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia”

HMNS hosts world premiere of landmark African exhibit

She’s world-famous, but nobody knows her real name. She’s 3.2 million years old, but she just came to light 33 years ago. And she’s in Houston, in “Lucy’s Legacy: The Hidden Treasures of Ethiopia.” The oldest and most complete adult human ancestor fully retrieved from Africa, Lucy is the show’s centerpiece -- visitors will come face-to-face with her when they see her reconstructed skull. The exhibit also includes more than 100 artifacts, manuscripts, art, coins and religious objects. Exploring Ethiopian culture and its people, believed to be direct descendants of the Queen of Sheba and King Solomon, “Lucy’s Legacy” makes its world premiere today.
