Don’t let the name of tonight’s performance, Weekend of Texas Contemporary Dance, fool you: While all the troupes performing are homegrown, some of them have graced stages around the nation. Now in its thirteenth year, the event summons the likes of Revolve Dance Company, Hope Stone Dance Company and Leslie Dworkin to test the limits of contemporary dance with new and revived works, ranging in style from classical to urban to experimental and ultra-modern. Christian-themed Ad Deum Dance Company will premiere a new work called “Reconcile My Heart”; Travesty Dance Group, whose founders live in different cities, reunites to perform excerpts from “Green”; UH Ensemble revives “Say Cheese”; and the hip-hop/house crew HaviKoro will show off its funky style in “Swing House.” Catch a glimpse of dance’s future in Texas and beyond.
Fri., Sept. 21, 8 p.m.; Sat., Sept. 22, 8 p.m., 2007
