Skeleton and Spirits

The Museum of Natural Science takes Lucy to her first Halloween party

Given the hoopla over the Houston Museum of Natural Science’s decision to host the Lucy fossil, maybe the best way to get a scare out of the curators and staff at today’s Skeleton and Spirits 2007 party is to put on a traditional neTela and go as a citizen of Ethiopia decrying the plundering of your rich natural history by the Great Satan. Or you could ruffle up your hair, put on some dorky glasses, don a lab coat and go as a conservation archeologist. That ought to send a tingle down their spines. Even if you go with the usual vampire, werewolf or sexy nurse, Skeleton and Spirits should be a blast, as it features free food, music from Houston’s best Beatles tribute band The Fab Five and a cash bar — always a great idea around a collection of priceless artifacts. 8 p.m. One Hermann Circle Drive, in Hermann Park. For tickets and information, call 713-639-4629 or visit $13 to $15.
