Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson

The Blue Willow Bookshop presents a reading of Peter and the Secret of Rundoon

Clap your hands and believe! No, it’s not Tinker Bell who needs your applause; it’s the authors Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, who are touring in support of their young adult novel Peter and the Secret of Rundoon. This reimagining of Peter Pan was set in motion when best-selling novelist Ridley Pearson was reading Peter Pan to his young daughter. He was stumped when she asked him how Peter and Captain Hook met for the first time. Soon after that, Pearson and Pulitzer Prize-winning humorist Barry, longtime friends and band mates (in the all-star literary band Rock Bottom Remainders), set out to create a back-story for the beloved character Peter Pan: How can Peter fly? Why doesn’t he get old? And where the heck is his shadow? 4 p.m. The Regis School, 7330 Westview Drive. For information, call 281-497-8675 or visit www.bluewillowbookshop.com. Free.
