For a preview of the musicians youll be seeing in the worlds top orchestras for the next 50 years, dont miss tonights performance by the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra. More than 100 of the planets finest young musicians, ages 17 to 29, have been selected from among thousands and are coming together for a world tour. The musicians, who hail from 30 nations, will be joined by two distinguished elders, Swiss conductor Charles Dutoit and Argentine pianist Martha Argerich. Chopin Competition winner Argerich will perform Piano Concerto No. 3 by Prokofiev, then join the orchestra as they perform one of the Romantic periods most important compositions, Hector Berliozs five-movement Symphonie Fantastique.
