Playback Theatre

Jung Center hosts an improvisational comedy troupe

An evening with Houston’s Playback Theatre might not change your life, but it sure can make your night. The often hysterically funny improvisational troupe takes stories, suggestions and phrases from the audience and then acts them out, often with laugh-till-you-cry results. The most banal of stories can become fodder for Playback – take, for example, the lady who got locked out of her house, then went next door to ask her neighbor for a beer and a book to ease her time sitting on the yard waiting for hubby to come home. One actor even played the stubborn door in that story. The troupe, up and running since 1997, will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Jung Center, 5200 Montrose. For information, call 713-524-8253 or visit www.cgjunghouston.org. $10.
Fri., Nov. 30, 7:30 p.m., 2007
