You can listen to song after song by Houston hip-hopper Babel Fishh without realizing there’s something missing: rhymes. That’s because even without them, this emcee can flow as smoothly as any other rhymesayer. Babel Fishh’s words are backed by abstract beats sampling everything from loud banging sounds to creepy organs. This may sound like a hard-to-follow, avant-garde jazz project, but it all actually comes together into a listener-friendly sound that will no doubt be appreciated by the fans of headliners Zechs Marquise. El Paso’s progressive rock quartet ZM stays true to the genre’s extended-jam style in songs like “34:26.” The opus is divided into four parts, which you’ll no doubt hear in full today after Babel Fishh and fellow openers The Television Skies, Wolves at the Door, Yoko Mono and DJ Shilbalam. 7:30 p.m. Warehouse Live, 813 St. Emanuel Street.
