Local art space Peel Gallery offers ultra-chic furniture and home items. If you can think of anything more chic than the Portland, Oregon glass and design firm known as Esque, which uses an eco-friendly mix of renewable energy and recycled materials and has helped furnish the homes of Lenny Kravitz, Jim Dine and Robert Rauschenberg, then you’re way chicer than us. Andi Kovel and Justin Parker of Esque are known for glass works of amazing size and simplicity. The twosome’s self-described “coherent vision of functional home accessories, lighting, and architectural detailing” carries a hefty price tag (chic, apparently, doesn’t come cheap) but if you’re in the market for the ultimate cool holiday gift, bring your debit card. Or just drop in for a momentary glimpse of decor that’s not red, green and tacky. 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. Through December 30. 4411 Montrose Boulevard. For information, call 713-520-8122 or visit www.peelgallery.org. Free.
Mondays-Saturdays. Starts: Nov. 16. Continues through Dec. 30, 2007
