More About

You can’t help but disobey The Love Me Nots. In other (incorrect) words, you can’t not love them. The Phoenix foursome rounds out a mix of sleek, fuzzy garage and surf ditties with riffs and beats too infectious to ignore. In true ‘60s/’70s fashion, each song is driven by jangly guitars and distorted organs. Their sound borrows from the old without hacking it, making for an enjoyable and boogie-ful blast to the past. If that’s not enough, singer Nicole Laurenne’s sexy alto will drive the boys mad, and she tops it off with go-go boots, a miniskirt and a beehive hairdo. (Grrr.) It all starts with local rockers Black Black Gold at 10 p.m. Rudyard’s, 2010 Waugh. For information, call 713-521-0521 or visit www.rudyards.com. $7.
