Decking the Path to Blessedness
Barry Stone places the stars in front of your eyes
Published on March 13, 2008
Staring into Barry Stones Decking the Path to Blessedness, youd think you were looking at galaxies created hundreds of years ago and millions of miles away, but actually they were made a couple of months ago in Austin. Stones six large monoliths, showing as part of the citywide FotoFest, feature photographs of flour sifted onto a black background in the sunlight. When the images are enlarged on vinyl sheets and pasted onto large plastic panels, its impossible to tell they came from a pantry instead of the Big Bang. See how Stone took the stars from the sky and placed them right in front of your eyes today, through May 2 at Sabine Street ArtPark, 100 Sabine.
