A Wedding

It’s one matrimonial mishap after another at this opera’s Houston premiere

Today’s your last chance to see A Wedding at Moores Opera House. Based on the Robert Altman film of the same name, William Bolcom’s A Wedding is making its Houston premiere. It’s a free-for-all romp, with the pastor flubbing his lines and wedding guests getting drunk, singing and fighting with a security guard who’s itching to bust a move on someone, anyone. (“Sir, I don’t want to have to neutralize you.”) One guest drops dead during all this fun, but no one seems to notice and everyone keeps chatting with her just the same.
