At age 70, George Carlin hasn’t lost his momentum — or his anger. The comedian/actor/author, who got his start in the ‘60s with appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show, is still throwing funny punches at society, government, entertainment and everything in between. In his latest HBO special, It’s Bad for Ya, Carlin went after today’s parents, who he says are creating a false sense of the world for their children by trading their role as disciplinarians for the role of “diaper sniffers.” “No child today ever gets to hear those all-important, character-building words: ‘Ya lost, Bobby,’” he says.
Carlin’s style is as comical as it is controversial (a formula usually used by the best in the biz) as he goes on to attack Christians, by calling them liars; policemen, by calling them liars; and our legal rights, by calling them lies.
