As if these struggles werent enough weight on her shoulders, Satrapi was also dealing with all the usual growing pains love, angst and the search for identity. Her decision to share this story in a comic-book fashion earned Satrapi comparisons to other notable author/illustrators such as Maus mastermind Art -Spiegelman.
