“Dither Complex”

Paul Fleming’s resin works are in faux motion

Paul Fleming’s art gives off good vibrations. “Dither Complex” is a collection of wall sculptures meant to imply motion. Using opaque white and clear colored resin, Fleming creates works such as Pulse II, a series of cascading orange pyramids that look like they’re emerging out of the wall. For Peep, he poured blue and green resin into holes on a white board, so they look like droplets dissipating. And for DNA, he hung different colored vessels on the wall; viewers can decide whether they are tumbling across it or falling down. See these and other works in faux motion from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays to Fridays, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays. Through May 31. Barbara Davis Gallery, 4411 Montrose. For information, call 713–520-9200 or visit www.barbaradavisgallery.com. Free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: May 10. Continues through May 31, 2008
