The Splasher

The second offering from the brand-new Catastrophic Theatre Company is an original in every way. Created by company member (and Houston Press contributor) Troy Schulze, The Splasher focuses on a real-life guy who ran around New York City vandalizing graffiti as a political statement against art. Schulze says that when the story came out in The New York Times, he was fascinated by “this vandal going around vandalizing vandalism.” The result of all Schulze’s subsequent research is a one-act “meditation on art, crime and punishment.”
