Riff Tiffs, Tontons, Fat Tony, Lisa's Sons

All too often, local talent goes unnoticed by most Houstonians, so a big venue such as Warehouse Live hosting a slew of local bands is both a rare treat and an opportunity for those bands to really turn some heads (and sell some T-shirts). Expect low-key, melodic rock from headliners the Riff Tiffs, whose 2007 effort Afflictinnitus was among the city's best. Head Tonton Asli Omar, whose voice has been compared to the likes of Billie Holiday, draws more disciples with every show. Sets from mafioso namesake Fat Tony, riding high on his recent Love Life EP, and Lisa's Sons, heading out on a national tour next month, close out an excellent lineup that spotlights just how eclectic the local scene has become.
