Free Kick Masters 2008
Its a soccer showdown worth $1.5 million
Published on July 02, 2008 at 1:41am
Who needs David Beckham? Not us; weve got more than 30 world-class soccer players coming into town to vie for a $1.5 million pot in the Free Kick Masters 2008. The worlds strongest feet and fastest hands strut their stuff in this direct-shots-on-goal competition. Youll see players including Ronaldinho Gaúcho, said to be the best soccer player in the world right now; Anderson Deco Luis de Souza, the Brazilian hottie; and Rafael Márquez, the Mexican kickster known for his sultry looks as much as his strong foot. The Free Kick Master winner gets a million dollars, and the Golden Goalkeeper gets a half mil. This event sold out in Spain last year (it was also broadcast to some 110 million viewers in 30 different countries). Lucky you, you get to see it in person. 7 to 11 p.m. Reliant Stadium, One Reliant Park. For information, call 832-667-1400 or visit www.freekickmastersusa.com. $27 to $750 (no, thats not a typo).
