“In Residence”

The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft presents an AIR group show

Critical acclaim is great, as is a sale or two, but for up-and-coming artists, a residency is the Big Fish. Just ask the participants in this year’s artist-in-residence program at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Their new exhibit, “In Residence,” includes fiber and felt works by Barbara Kile, colorful stained glass from Tahlia Priete and archery-inspired fiber works from Greg Rubio. Also presenting will be Laura Viada, a weaver who specializes in geometric patterns, and Hyo-In Kim, a South Korean artist whose mixed-media pieces draw on cultural items like traditional clothing. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays; noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. Through September 14. 4848 Main. For information, call 713-529-4848 or visit www.crafthouston.org. Free.
Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: July 10. Continues through Sept. 14, 2008
