It’s anybody’s guess which is the handle and which is the spout at “The Glass Half-Full,” a whimsical collection of ceramic vessels on exhibit at 18 Hands Gallery. Discover teapots, tumblers, goblets, urns, pitchers and vases in all sorts of odd shapes and sizes. To be included in the exhibit, each piece had to hold water, but other than that, the artists were free to create whatever they could imagine. Here, form trumps function. Look for work by the gallery’s five founders: colorful forms drawn from nature by Betsy Evans, unusual glazes by Albert Goldreich, whimsical shapes by Karen Cruce, simple yet elegant creations from Jim Shea and sculptured stoneware by Katy McKinin, alongside pieces from other selected potters. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. 18 Hands Gallery, 249 West 19th Street.
