“Sequence”

Gallery Sonja Roesch presents new art by Susanne Ackermann and Rossana Martinez

Susanne Ackermann and Rossana Martinez know how to keep it within the lines. Both women make works based on repetition and layering, transforming the basic line into something more complex in their joint exhibit “Sequence.” For one untitled piece, Ackermann used colored pencils to draw flowing, curving lines that become ribbons of color. And for All I Need Is You, Martinez also used colored pencils, but she drew straight, stark vertical red lines, with a single blue thread cutting across the middle of the work. What does it all mean? Ah, that’s up to you. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Through August 30. Gallery Sonja Roesch, 2309 Caroline. For information, call 713–659–5424 or visit www.gallerysonjaroesch.com. Free.
Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: July 12. Continues through Aug. 30, 2008
