The Unforgettable Tour

Big Brassy Bollywood arrives in Texas

By Lee Williams

Published on July 31, 2008

Bollywood fans, your day has arrived. The Unforgettable Tour is here. The sexiest, most celebrated legends from Indian film — everyone from that dark beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to the reigning king of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, who’s also Aishwarya’s father-in-law, to Preity Zinta — will gather on one stage for an extravaganza of singing and dancing that could only come out of -Bollywood.

Famous for its lush costumes and gorgeous sets, Bollywood should translate into a spectacle of flash and sound to a live venue, especially one as big as the Toyota Center. And though organizers have been very hush-hush about what to expect, most Indian journalists assume that the night of big lights and even bigger stars will feature much-loved song-and-dance numbers from the stars’ popular films. And don’t think about seeing it anywhere else; Houston is the only stop in Texas. 9 p.m. 1510 Polk. For information, call 713-272-7469 or visit www.theunforgettabletour.com. $65 to $200.
