Milana

She loves me, she loves me not gets the Bollywood treatment

With singing, dancing, India’s lush environs and, most importantly, a schmaltzy love story, the hit film Milana has all the Bollywood hallmarks. Things are going great for a young radio DJ (Puneeth Rajkumar) until his wife (Parvathi Menon) tells him, immediately following their wedding, that she wants a divorce and is in love with another man. He consents, even agreeing to help her find her lover. But when she does find him, he’s already married and no longer has feelings for her. Devastated, she turns to her husband, who helps her heal…and a little bit more. Traditional themes of longing, loving and family tradition are set against an ultramodern India whose young residents frequent dance clubs and tool around on motorcycles. Don’t be scared off if you don’t speak the language — the film will have English subtitles. 3:30 p.m. Bollywood Cinema 6 (FunAsiA), 2703 Highway 6. For information, call 281-493-0390 or visit www.funasia.net. $7.
